Looking for a unique financial tombstone to highlight an equally unique transaction? Before you choose your supplier, make sure you keep these 5 factors top of mind.
You’re in the market for a unique tombstone design. The story, if you’re in the financial industry, is as old as time: you work day in and day out to get a deal closed. You and your deal team are absolutely wiped by the end of it. Now it’s time to celebrate; it’s time to order your deal toys. But if you don’t already have a preferred provider, where do you begin? How do you know what to look for?
There are plenty of details that affect how your deal toy turns out. Of course, factory and machinery come into play, but what about artists and team dynamics? These are things that can be overlooked throughout the ordering process. We’re here to explain why they matter and why you should investigate before choosing where you purchase and create your deal toys. With all the options out there, we put together a list of things you might want to consider.
You’ll of course want a provider who has a well-run factory with the machinery and capabilities to bring your design to life. To make sure we have the capacity to deal with every order possible, we have three state-of-the-art facilities: Altrum Canada, Altrum Asia, and our factory in Amsterdam, New York. Each has become an integral part of our business.
While we have the experts working on the ground there, we also make sure our client-facing team knows the ins and outs of our facility. Upon hiring those on the sales and design team, (aka those who are client-facing) they take a trip to one of our factories. During the trip, they can see hands-on exactly how a piece is made. With an extensive 3-day long training, they soak up every possible detail to make sure they can provide you with all the answers to any questions you might have.
Best of all, the deal toy business is an industry where you truly learn every day. Since our team is constantly looking for new technologies and new ways to spruce up your unique tombstone designs, you’ll come to learn that our team is always learning something new. We’ll make sure to announce any new capabilities we have with you via email or even in person. When possible, we produce a few pieces for our team to come into the office and show you exactly what we’re talking about. If that is not possible, we have our incredible team in the factory who can snap pictures or videos for you of a specific piece or technique.
Speaking of, we have our production managers in the factory at all times to oversee your project from the second it comes in, to the minute it gets shipped out to you. They oversee that all things in the design are feasible and realistic when it comes to your budget and shipping.
Specific deal toy providers can work very differently from each other. Especially when it comes to the sales representatives you deal with and team dynamics. Here at Altrum, you’ll quickly learn that you have three personnel dedicated to not only your project but your account as a whole. Meaning, if you work at X Bank, we will have designated representatives who will handle all incoming projects from your bank. This way, our teams become familiar with how you work and your company guidelines.
You’ll also notice that you have several points of contact. Your go-to people are your sales executive and your account manager. It’s important to dive into what each of these roles entails.
Your Sales Executive, or SE, is here to be your first point of contact. When in need of a project, you’ll be able to reach out to them via email or phone call. They’ll make sure to answer any questions you might have and gather all the necessary information from you. It is their job to seamlessly guide you through our 4-step process and even help you come up with ideas (if that’s what you need). The sales team is not only prepared for you if you have specific design ideas or material preferences, but they are also ready for you if you’re not quite sure where to start. They are trained to be as hands-on or hands-off as you need.
In addition to being your first point of contact, they’ll also be able to conduct meetings with you and your company. Have any new hires or first-year analysts? Give your SE a call and they’ll be able to put together some necessary information for the first years. They can host trainings and even cater lunch while they teach everyone about how we work. The main goal is to get to know you and your preferences when it comes to deal toys. SE’s are there to make sure you are informed of the process from start to finish and answer all initial questions you might have.
Your Account Manager, or AM, will oversee everything after the first initial phone call. Once you and your SE have discussed your expectation and the logistics of your project, the SE will send all necessary information over to your AM. From there, your AM will work with a number of people to get you some incredible designs. They will work together with our art team and production managers to put together a round of 3 unique tombstone designs and then email them your way. Trust us when we tell you, that they will not stop until your design is everything you imagined it would be.
AM’s are the line of communication between the many people who are a part of your project and account. They handle the communication with the artist(s) who work on your design as well as your production manager at our factory. The goal is to have familiarity with your preferences and guidelines, especially the more you work with us. The AM will gather all information and compile it for you in an easy line of communication to keep you in the loop on all things designs/production.
It is equally as important for you to think about the art team you’ll be working with. You won’t necessarily be emailing them back and forth as you would with your AM, but they are just as involved. Here at Altrum, we pride ourselves on the talent of our art team. Without them, we can’t imagine what your deal toys would look like!
Our team is made up of artists from all over the world, with some of the best art schools on their resumes and a multitude of strong suits within each and every one of them. A deal toy company that thrives, is one that invests in their art team. While you might think, if you’re artistically talented, you can create a deal toy, that is not always the case. The Altrum art team goes through months of art and production training. But that’s not the final training. They continue throughout their career because there’s always something new on the horizon in terms of deal toys.
To them, this isn’t just a job; they seek creativity in every aspect of their lives. By going to museums, admiring other artists, and working on outside projects as well. Check out some of our artist’s personal work!
Simply put, you’ll want to put your project into the hands of someone you trust. We understand that the deal toy industry is in fact a niche one, and we sure know what we’re doing. With over 60 years of experience in the industry, we are at the forefront. We know we can take your projects and create the deal toy of your dreams. This year alone, we were awarded Canada’s Best Managed Companies Gold Standard designation for the second year in a row. In addition, we also received the prize of the Interorder Education Hock during the 31st edition of the Gala de l’Entreprise Beauceronne; this was organized by the Chamber of Commerce of St-Georges. Investing in our team members is why our deal toys are simply the best and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Not only do we care what our employees say about us, we care what you say too. That’s why we make sure to have an outlet where you can tell us how we performed with your project. By conducting an NPS (net promoter score) survey with our clients, we can receive feedback and learn from it. Our team reviews every single comment with management to make sure our team is better and stronger every day; it’s what we strive for.
In addition to the above points and added benefits we have at Altrum, we have an online presence which is something we are extremely proud of. We understand that every project, budget, and timeline is different. That’s why we want to make sure we have a solution for every scenario, which is why we started our Online Store.
Having our online store lets you order your more traditional/classic pieces. Here, you are the artist. You oversee the customization of your own piece with text, imagery, and logos. It won’t be your average process, where your AM and SE walk you through multiple unique tombstone designs and techniques. But when you’re in a crunch and need something quick, we have that option for you. Our e-commerce store is a great option for firms that need small quantities of deal tombstones.
Feel free to check it out and let us know if you have any additional questions to see if the online store or our traditional approach is right for you.
But there is one very important honorable mention that we should talk about: trust. It is important that you trust those you work with. It’s not rocket science, but a deal toy is invaluable. Your deal toys should be the physical embodiment of the work you and your deal team put in.
Our brand promise to you is to provide an exceptionally smooth, hassle-free service each and every time. We think the listed reasons above, help us help you. By paying attention to the above, we can ensure that you feel comforted by our team. We went into this business because we love to celebrate and inspire people. Let us help you celebrate your accomplishments. If you ever have any questions or would like to get some unique tombstone designs started, please don’t hesitate. We’ll be waiting!
